Finding the Lover's Christmas Tree

Since we were half way to Half Moon Bay, we thought we'd drop down on Highway 92 to pick up a Christmas tree at "Santa's Tree Farm."

We weren't sure how the system worked, but were greeted at the gate by a friendly elf who gave us a saw and told us to drive around until we saw the tree that we wanted. Off we went!

Adam and Ryan went up the hill to find the perfect tree, but couldn't find it again when we brought Eunice and Nancy back for their opinion. Not to worry - we ended up finding one even better...

...the "Lover's Christmas Tree!" This tree actually has 2 trunks, intertwined from the roots up. What a lovely metaphor for Eunice and Ryan's first real tree...

Enough romantic posturing. It's time to cut down the lover's tree. Hand me the saw!

Home at last, after trimming the tree to fit in the corner of our living room (much bigger than it looked in the field!).

Nancy and Spencer, enjoying the the beginnings of a Nichols Christmas.
